Your Gateway to Knowledge
The mission of the Akron Public Library is to provide open access to a full range of timely resources in various media; to meet the needs and interests of the entire community in the areas of education, culture, recreation and information; and to provide programs, facilities and services to support these needs in coordination with other local and regional organizations.
You may register for an individual card or a family card. Children under grade one will be on a card with a parent or a family card. You must fill out a form with name, address, email and all phone numbers of the individual/family wishing to have a card. The complete registration policy is on the library’s website.

The library has 4 patron computers which may be used for one log-in per day for a maximum of one hour. There is a complete internet and computer policy listed on the library’s website.
The library has wireless internet connection which can be accessed 24 hours a day within the library building and Readers Garden and a short distance from the building.
